March is finally here and that means two things: spring is around the corner, and Bridgerton is almost back! Season 2 of my favorite guilty pleasure premiers on March 25 and it's amazing how much this show has influenced the zeitgeist since its debut. In fact, one of the big wedding trends for 2022 is Bridgerton-inspired decor (think English gardens, blue and white, pretty china). Last year Molly Sohr and I paid homage to the show with a fabulous tea party setup, and it was such a hit that I wanted to revisit the theme with a fresh table. I hope you love it and find lots of inspiration for all of your spring celebrations!

As we head into peak entertaining season (Easter, Passover, Mother's Day, bridal showers, etc.), I also wanted to address one of the FAQs I get in DMs: how to find the right size tablecloth for your table. Table Design

To help set the Bridgerton tone, I once again turned to Vietri, a go-to tabletop brand for dishware, flatware, serving pieces, accessories, and more. You can find everything I used hereon their Mary's Spring Picks page. How fabulous are these salad/dessert plates? The gold detailing, the gorgeous pastel colors – I love how pretty they are but also how clean and modern they look when paired with a simple white dinner plate.  The gold edging is repeated in the stemware, a small detail which ties it all together (important when you’re playing with color and doing a lot of mixing and matching).

You’ll recognize the plates and flatware from my Valentine’s Day table. The silverware is so fun and different – I think the metalwork gives it some vintage flair (so Bridgerton) but the clear acrylic keeps it modern. I wanted to take my inspiration from Bridgerton without the table feeling too “themed” or silly, so contemporary touches like the lucite and organic-feeling dinner plates help achieve that.  

We chose multicolored snapdragons for the centerpiece and arranged them in Vietri’s Hibiscus Vases of varying sizes. I absolutely adore these vases and love that they come in every color and size imaginable. It’s one of my favorite gifts because it looks good in everyone’s home. You can of course order these beauties online, or if you’re in the Nashville area, Tulip Tree (one of my favorite florists) keeps a ton of Hibiscus Vases in stock (thank you to their team for letting us borrow these for the shoot). As for the flowers themselves, a favorite trick is using one type of bloom in multiple colors to create a really lush centerpiece. The multi-color effect gives the whole thing a lot of dimension and it’s much easier to arrange when you’re working with only one type of flower.

Tablecloth Size Guide

Below is a chart I always find helpful when selecting table linens. For the round and banquet (rectangular) tables, note that the “max” measurement means that the linen will be floor-length (or close to it). There is no “rule” about how long a tablecloth should be - it’s entirely a matter of aesthetic preference. My advice? Try out a few different sizes to find the dimensions you like best, then keep that info in the Notes section on your phone so you always have it.
